ಮಧ್ಯಾಹ್ನ 12ರ ವೇಳೆಗೆ ಸಣ್ಣದಾಗಿ ಕಾಣಿಸಿಕೊಂಡ ಬೆಂಕಿ, ಬೃಹದಾಕಾರವಾಗಿ ವ್ಯಾಪಿಸಿತು. ಬಳಿಕ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದ ಅಗ್ನಿ ಶಾಮಕ ಹಾಗೂ ತುರ್ತು ಸೇವಾ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿ ಬೆಂಕಿ ನಂದಿಸಲು ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾದರು. ಆದರೂ, ಬೆಲೆ ಬಾಳುವ ಸಾಮಗ್ರಿ, ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಅಂಕಪಟ್ಟಿ ಸುಟ್ಟು ಕರಕಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ದೃಶ್ಯ ಎಲ್ಲರ ಮನಕಲಕಿತು.

ಗಂಜಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರದ ಭರವಸೆ: ಬಳಿಕ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದ ತಹಶೀಲ್ದಾರ್‌ ಮಂಜುನಾಥ್‌ ಬಳ್ಳಾರಿ, ಗಂಜಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಆರಂಭಿಸಲಾಗುವುದು ಎಂದು ಭರವಸೆ ನೀಡಿದರು. ಪಾಲಿಕೆ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿಯೂ ಸ್ಥಳ ಪರಿಶೀಲನೆ ನಡೆಸಿದರು. ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನೆಯ ನೇತೃತ್ವವನ್ನು ಆಲೂರು ನಿಂಗರಾಜ್‌,
ಆವರೆಗೆರೆ ವಾಸು ಮೊದಲಾದವರು ವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು.
