ದೊಡ್ಡಬಳ್ಳಾಪುರ: ತಾಲ್ಲೂಕಿನ ಗುಂಡ್ಲ ಹಳ್ಳಿ ಸಮೀಪದ ಟೆರ್ರಾಫರ್ಮ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿಬಿಎಂಪಿ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ತಂದು ಹಾಕ ಲಾಗಿದ್ದ ಬೃಹತ್‌ ಕಸದ ರಾಶಿಗೆ ಶುಕ್ರವಾರ ಸಂಜೆ 6 ಗಂಟೆ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಂಕಿ ಬಿದ್ದಿದೆ.
ಕಸದ ರಾಶಿಯಿಂದ ಮೇಲೇಳುತ್ತಿ ರುವ ದಟ್ಟ ಹೊಗೆ ಸುಮಾರು 5 ಕಿ.ಮೀ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿವರೆಗೂ ಆವರಿಸಿದೆ.
ಟೆರ್ರಾಫರ್ಮ್‌ ಸಮೀಪದಲ್ಲೇ ಇರುವ ಗುಂಡ್ಲಹಳ್ಳಿ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ಹೊಗೆ ಯಿಂದ ಆವರಿಸಿದೆ. ಈ ಗ್ರಾಮದಲ್ಲಿನ ಸುಮಾರು 50ಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಕುಟುಂಬ ಗಳನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಳಾಂತರಿಸಲು ಪ್ರಯತ್ನ ನಡೆಸ ಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಇದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಗ್ರಾಮಸ್ಥರನ್ನು ಮನವೊಲಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಆದರೆ ಗ್ರಾಮಸ್ಥರು ಆಕ್ರೋಶ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದು, ಪ್ರಾಣಬಿಟ್ಟರೂ ಗ್ರಾಮವನ್ನು ತೊರೆಯು ವುದಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
‘ಇಷ್ಟು ದಿನ ಕಸದ ವಾಸನೆಯಿಂದ ನರಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದೆವು. ಈಗ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಪ್ರಾಣ ತೆಗೆಯುವ ಹಾಗೂ ಗ್ರಾಮದಿಂದ ಎತ್ತಂ ಗಡಿ ಮಾಡಿಸುವ ಸಲುವಾಗಿಯೇ ಕಸದ ರಾಶಿಗೆ ಬೆಂಕಿ ಹಾಕಲಾಗಿದೆ’ ಎಂದು ಗ್ರಾಮಸ್ಥರು ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಭೇಟಿ ನೀಡಿದ್ದ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳನ್ನು ತರಾಟೆಗೆ ತೆಗೆದು ಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಭೇಟಿ ನೀಡಿರುವ ಶಾಸಕ ಟಿ. ವೆಂಕಟರಮಣಯ್ಯ ಬೆಂಕಿ ನಂದಿಸಲು ತುಮಕೂರು, ನೆಲಮಂಗಲ, ಬೆಂಗಳೂ ರಿನಿಂದ ಅಗ್ನಿಶಾಮಕ ವಾಹನಗಳನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸುವಂತೆ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಉಸ್ತುವಾರಿ ಸಚಿ ವರಿಗೆ ಮನವಿ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಈಗಾಗಲೇ 10 ಅಗ್ನಿಶಾಮಕ ವಾಹ ನಗಳು ಬೆಂಕಿ ನಂದಿಸುವ ಕಾರ್ಯಾ ಚರಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿರತವಾಗಿವೆ.
ಸ್ಥಳೀ ಯವಾಗಿಯೂ ಟ್ಯಾಂಕರ್‌ಗಳ ಮೂಲ ಕವು ಕಸದ ರಾಶಿ ಮೇಲೆ ನೀರು ಸುರಿಯುವ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದೆ. ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿ 207ರ ಕೆಲಸದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿರತವಾಗಿದ್ದ ಟಿಪ್ಪರ್‌ ಲಾರಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮಣ್ಣು ತಂದು ಕಸದ ರಾಶಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಹಾಕುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಬೆಂಕಿ ಇತರೆ ಪ್ರದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಹರಡದಂತೆ ಮಾಡಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಆದರೆ ಬೆಂಕಿ ಇನ್ನು ನಿಯಂತ್ರಣಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಸ್ಥಳೀಯರು ‘ಪ್ರಜಾವಾಣಿ’ಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಹೊಗೆಯಿಂದ ತೀವ್ರವಾಗಿ ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥರಾ ಗಿರುವ ಜನರನ್ನು 10 ಅಂಬ್ಯುಲೆನ್ಸ್‌ಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಾಗಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆ ವೈದ್ಯರು ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲೇ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ ನೀಡಲು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಘಟನಾ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲೇ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಪೊಲೀಸ್‌ ವರಿಷ್ಠಾ ಧಿಕಾರಿ ರಮೇಶ್‌ ಬಾನೂಟ್‌, ಗ್ರಾಮಾಂ ತರ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾಧಿಕಾರಿ ಸಲ್ಮಾ ಕೆ.ಫಹಿಂ ಖುದ್ದು ಹಾಜರಿದ್ದು ಬೆಂಕಿ ನಂದಿಸುವ ಉಸ್ತು ವಾರಿ ವಹಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

Now, attempts are being made to kill us by setting the trash on fire,” angry residents told the officials who rushed to the spot.
“Water was fetched using tankers to douse the flames. Several truckloads of soil were dumped on the garbage heaps to ensure that the fire does not spread. Tipper lorries that were at work on the National Highway-207 were roped in to bring soil. But, still the fire has not been extinguished,” eye-witnesses told Deccan Herald at the time of going to the press.
Doddaballapur MLA T Venkataramaiah, who was at the spot, said that Bengaluru Rural district in-charge minister has been requested to send additional fire tenders from Bengaluru, Tumakuru and Nelamangala. Bengaluru Rural district Deputy Commissioner Salma K Fahim and Superintendent of Police Ramesh Banoth were at the spot supervising the rescue operations.
