Materials worth several lakhs of rupees were destroyed in a major fire that broke out at a factory outlet in Koramangala on Saturday night.
Seven fire tenders rushed to the spot, conducted an operation that lasted more than three hours and doused the fire. Spring materials, furniture, electronic gadgets and other goods stored in the outlet were reduced to ashes, said the police.
Preliminary enquiry suggested electric short circuit as possible cause for mishap. Thick smoke was noticed on the first floor of Stumpp Schuele & Somappa Springs Private Limited, a spring manufacturing unit near St John's Hospital around 9.30 pm. Soon, smoke engulfed the third and the fourth floors, followed by huge flames. A few residents called up the fire control room.
"We were alerted at 9.40 pm and sent three fire tenders were rushed initially. Soon, four more were rushed, considering the intensity of fire. The fire was doused past midnight," a fireman said.
Police and the fire personnel had tough time in conducting the operations due to heavy downpour.Due to heavy traffic, the fire tenders reached the spot late. No casualties were reported since the outlet was closed for weekend.
Cause for mishap will be ascertained after the Fire personnel conduct an inquiry and submit a report, added the police.

ನಾಲ್ಕು ಅಂತಸ್ತಿನ ಕಟ್ಟಡದ ಎರಡನೇ ಮಹಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಪ್ರಿಂಗ್‌ ಫ್ಯಾಕ್ಟರಿ ಇದೆ. ರಾತ್ರಿ 10 ಗಂಟೆ ಸುಮಾರಿಗೆ ಬೆಂಕಿ ಕಾಣಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದೆ. ಕಟ್ಟಡದಿಂದ ಹೊಗೆ ಬರುತ್ತಿದ್ದುದ್ದನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದ ಭದ್ರತಾ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿ ಅಗ್ನಿಶಾಮಕ ನಿಯಂತ್ರಣ ಕೊಠಡಿಗೆ ಕರೆ ಮಾಡಿ ವಿಷಯ ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. 9 ವಾಹನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದ ಅಗ್ನಿಶಾಮಕ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿ 3 ಗಂಟೆ ಕಾರ್ಯಾಚರಣೆ ನಡೆಸಿ ಬೆಂಕಿ ಆರಿಸಿದರು.

ಶಾರ್ಟ್‌ ಸರ್ಕಿಟ್‌ನಿಂದಾಗಿ ಬೆಂಕಿ ಹೊತ್ತಿಕೊಂಡಿರುವ ಸಾಧ್ಯತೆ ಇದೆ. ವಿದ್ಯುತ್‌ ವೈರ್‌ ಮೂಲಕ ಇಡೀ ಮಹಡಿಗೆ ಬೆಂಕಿ ವ್ಯಾಪಿಸಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಘಟನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಪ್ರಿಂಗ್‌ ವಸ್ತುಗಳು. ಎಲೆಕ್ಟ್ರಾನಿಕ್ಸ್‌ ಉಪಕರಣಗಳು, ಪೀಠೋಪಕರಣಗಳು ಸುಟ್ಟುಹೋಗಿವೆ. ಯಾವುದೇ  ಪ್ರಾಣಾಪಾಯ ಸಂಭವಿಸಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಅಗ್ನಿಶಾಮಕ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ಮಾಹಿತಿ ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.‌ ಕೋರಮಂಗಲ ಠಾಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಕರಣ ದಾಖಲಾಗಿದೆ.

Bangalore, Koramangala St. John's Hospital near the stump Shool and somappa Spring factory on Saturday night after the fire burned up millions of rupees worth of goods.

Spring Factory is located on the second floor of the four-storey building. The fire occurred around 10 pm. Baruttidduddannu saw the smoke from the building security guard said the fire control room to make a call to the content. Firefighter 3-hour operation took place on 9 vehicles, and picked out the fire.

Hottikondiruva is likely to be short-sarkitnindagi fire. Electrical wire that spans the entire floor of the fire, officials said.

Officials at the Fire Department confirmed that it is a major fire. “We have sent nine fire engines to the spot to douse the fire. One of them is a specialized vehicle to reach higher floors. The fire tenders had to douse the fire in the second floor of the building, along with the lower floors. The fire has been doused just now,” said an official, when contacted around 1 am.
The cause of the fire was not known. The damage to property is yet to be ascertained. A case has been registered
