Truck catches fire

Bengaluru, April 21, 2015, DHNS:

A truck carrying oil barrels was damaged after it caught fire on Kanakapura Road on Tuesday.
Police suspect that the fire was triggered by a short circuit. Three fire tenders rushed to the spot and doused the fire in about 20 minutes. No causalities were reported but a major mishap was averted as the barrels did not catch fire, a Fire and Emergency Services department official said.

The Fire and Emergency Services department received an emergency call at around 3 pm stating that a truck carrying oil barrels had caught fire. The driver of the truck noticed smoke coming out of the engine as the truck was passing through Nice Road. The driver and the cleaner soon alighted from the truck to check the engine but the vehicle had already caught fire.
