A major fire broke out at a plastic injection moulding factory situated on Bannerghatta Road on Monday morning. No casualty has been reported.
According to the fire officials, the fire broke out around 8.30 a.m. due to electrical short-circuit. Because the factory has been shut for a long time now, no employees were present at the factory at the time of incident.
The fire mishap came to light after a person named Balraj informed the control room about thick smoke bellowing from the factory. Three fire tenders were immediately pressed into service and it took nearly three hours for fire fighters to completely extinguish the fire, said the fire official.
As per the owner of the factory, material worth Rs. 3 lakhs was gutted in the mishap.
