Nurse stuck in lift for an hour at Bangalore Diabetes Centre
The Fire and Emergency Services personnel rescued a nurse who was stuck in the lift for more than an hour on Friday.
According to the fire services personnel, Anumala (27) works at Bangalore Diabetes Centre in Vasanthnagar. She was going from the third floor to the ground floor when the lift got stuck. When she failed to alert the hospital staff, she telephoned her family members who in turn informed the hospital staff. Then the Fire and Emergency Services personnel rushed to the spot and found that the lift had got stuck between the third and the second floors. They successfully rescued Anumala after about an hour. “We will discuss the incident with police, who will decide on checking the maintenance of the lift with the hospital authorities,” said a fire personnel.

Bengaluru: A woman's presence of mind and swift
action of fire force personnel helped her get out of a
jammed lift of a hospital without any injuries. The
incident took place on Friday in Bangalore Diabetes
Hospital (BDH) in Vasanthnagar.
Anumala, 27, a staff nurse of the hospital, had to
spend more than an hour in the lift when it got
jammed between the second and third floors. She
called her family from her mobile when no one
responded. "I was coming down to the second floor
from the third. Suddenly, the lift got jammed and I
shouted for help. When I realized that no one had
heard me, I called my family and they in turn called
the fire force." she said.
A team came to the spot and accessed the lift shaft.
She was brought out after the door was broken open
