A three-storey building, whose foundations had allegedly weakened after days of incessant rain, collapsed on Thursday at Konapana Agrahara on Hosur Road.
The police said an elderly woman, who was the only tenant in the building, had a narrow escape when she fled the house as soon as the building began to crumble.
“There used to be a catering centre on the ground floor of the building. We are not sure if there are any casualties,” said Fire and Emergency Services personnel, who were at the spot clearing the rubble.
Fire control room officials said that they received a call at 9.13 p.m. from one of the neighbours and two rescue vehicles were despatched to the location.
